I’m currently reading Matthew 19 and Matthew 19:29 says that if you leave your family for the sake of the gospel, you’ll inherit eternal life. But I know you don’t have to do anything to go to heaven except believe in Jesus… so what does this verse mean? Were they still under the law? Is “inheriting eternal life” just a metaphor and isn’t talking about literal heaven?
