  10. Thank you so much Fr Mike for praying for us daily and I am also praying daily for you and all our faithful here journeying with you, and offering your intentions and prayers during Mass.
    This is my second journey with the Bible in a podcast. Just finished this chapter. Will catch up and be up to date tomorrow during my second day off.. Your explanation in 'Go to Joseph' is very close to my heart and touched me greatly as St Joseph has been my Patron St for many years now and I have received countless graces and favours from God through St Joseph's intercession. Like to share to everyone in our group this very special favour that I have received and always saying a prayer of gratitude to God for answering my prayers through St Joseph's intercession. I was moving interstate in Australia and had to sell my house fast. I started a Novena to St Joseph and followed the traditional novena prayer of burying St Joseph statue in my garden. Through his intercession I was successful in selling my house within a short period of time for more than was expected. It was done by auctioning. Fr. Mike, your explanation between OT Joseph and NT of St Joseph, and that St Joseph is the one who took care and guarded the Bread from heaven and to be able to be distributed to us from heaven has moved me to tears cos I have also been blessed to be transferred interstate in Australia and offered this job within walking distance of my work place near to a beautiful Church of St Joseph, one of the oldest church here built in 1841 run by Passionist priests.St Joseph seem to be always near to me. I could receive the Lord in the Eucharist frequently during daily Mass there. I will continue to pray and seek through Holy Mother Mary's and Glorious St Joseph's intercession to help me to be faithful to God and to avoid sin. May God continue to bless you abundantly.🙏🙏🙏

  18. Wow, I will have to remember the phrase Go to Joseph. As you said, we must fight to stay faithful in the face of temptation.

    Genesis 41 tells the story of Joseph interpreting the Pharaoh's dreams. The Pharaoh hears of Joseph's reputation for interpreting dreams and asks him to interpret his dreams. Joseph says that his predictions come from God, not his work alone. The Pharaoh describes how in his dream seven thin cows eat seven fat cows but remain thin. In a second dream, the Pharaoh saw seven blighted ears of grain devour seven plump ears of grain. Joseph says this means God will bring seven plentiful years to Egypt followed by seven years of famine. The Pharaoh reacts by appointing Joseph as overseer of Egypt. Joseph spends the next seven years storing up food in each city of Egypt. Joseph's predictions come true, but not before he has two sons. As you said, Joseph could have easily abused his reputation as a dream-interpreter and as an overseer of Egypt. In previous chapters, he could have easily slept with his master's wife. However, Joseph fights to remain faithful and rejects all these opportunities to sin. As a result, he helps the people of Egypt become prosperous by helping them to store grain in advance.

    Genesis 42 tells the story of Joseph's brothers who are sent by Jacob/Israel from Canaan to buy grain in Egypt. The brothers (excluding Benjamin) approach Joseph who recognizes them. Joseph accuses them of being spies and throws them in prison. He releases them but forces them to bring Benjamin from Canaan. The brothers suspect they are receiving divine justice for selling Joseph into slavery. Jacob/Israel refuses to let them take Benjamin to Egypt because he has already lost two sons. This chapter reminds us that our sins will always come back to haunt us.

    Job 33 continues Elihu's challenge to Job. Elihu claims he is Job's spokesman before God. He points out that Job is righteous in his own eyes. He suggests that God may have answered Job via a dream or some other means beyond our perception. He suggests God was with Job during his suffering and preserved his soul. Elihu promises to teach Job wisdom. Job 34 shows Elihu denouncing Job for questioning God's justice. He proclaims that God is truly just and moral and that He has designed the world with righteousness. As a result, Elihu says God's judgment is perfect. Elihu says Job should have endured the suffering and promised to offend no more, humbly submitting to God. He says Job does not have God's Wisdom and therefore his speeches are wicked. I believe Elihu is right that God is Just and that His Justice may be beyond our perception.

    Proverbs 4:1-9 reminds us to treasure Wisdom and to seek understanding and insight of the Lord's Wisdom. Elihu questions whether Job truly understands God's Wisdom when it is beyond his perception. I pray that reading the Word of the Bible will give me insight into true Wisdom.
