Fr. Mike reflects on Jeremiah’s sorrow for the people of Israel while reminding us that the one thing we ought to find glory in, is in understanding and knowing God. In our reading of Ezekiel, we hear about God’s ongoing promise to restore Israel. Today’s readings are Jeremiah 9, Ezekiel 39, and Proverbs 15:1-4.

We hear every day from our community how The Bible in a Year helps to capture hearts and souls for Christ. While we’re happy to make it free to our audience, it’s not free to create! It takes a significant investment to produce the podcast and distribute it free-of-cost to the public. You can make a gift of financial support to help defray these costs and enable us to keep bringing evangelizing digital media to all those searching for God: https://tinyurl.com/yjbkeldw Thank you for your support.

  1. Please pray for healing for my nephew Isaac who is going through a rough patch with cancer. Pray that the mass on his neck disappears. He just finished Chemotherapy and now getting radiation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  2. Ezekiel 39
25 – The Sovereign Lord said, "But now I will be merciful to Jacob's descendants, the people of Israel, and make them prosperous again. I will protect my holy name .
26 – When they are once more living in safety in their own land, with no one to threaten them, they will be able to forget how they were disgraced for having betrayed me.
27 – In order to show to the many nations that I am holy, I will bring my people back from all the countries where their enemies live.
28 – Then my people will know that I am the Lord their God.
29 – I will pour out my spirit on the people of Israel and never again turn away from them.
I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken." 📖🕯

  3. Jeremiah 9
    3 – The Lord says, " My
    people do one evil thing
after another and do not acknowledge me as their God."

6 – ….. The Lord says that his people reject him
7 – Because of this the Lord Almighty says, " I will refine my people like metal and put them to the test. My people have done evil – what else can I do with them?"

23 – The Lord says, " The wise should not boast of their wisdom, nor the strong of their strength,
nor the rich of their wealth.
24 – If any want to boast, they should boast that they know and understand me, because
my love is constant, and I do what is just and right. These are the things that please me.
    I, the Lord, have spoken."
25 – The Lord says, " The time is coming when I will punish the people of Egypt, Judah, Edom, Ammon, Moah, and the desert people, who have cut their hair short.
26 – All these people are circumcised, but have not kept the covenant it symbolizes. None of these people and none of the people of Israel have kept my covenant."

  4. The thought of entering our homeland, the Kingdom of God, forgetting my shame and treachery, and dwelling securely in Heaven with none to make me afraid… just brings tears to my eyes!
Thank you Fr. Mike for helping me to know God a little better each day. I'm praying for you. Please pray for me. ♥

  5. If I had never encountered Ascension Press, the Bible-in-a-Year program, and especially Father Mike Schmitz, I would never have read the complete Bible with understanding. I thank God for this opportunity to be at Day 232. I pray that I may persevere to the end. Laudetur Jesus Christus! 🙏
