The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.

The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

  1. As for Aliens visiting earth , I would say the only thing we can say is with our knowledge and technology, we could not travel vast distances through space in the length or our lifetime, however if there was a race of Aliens that had existed and had developed science and technology for a say a million years longer than us. we have no idea what they could do. And i think if there were Aliens it would be obvious why they would choose the earth to come and have a look at

  2. It is definitely more probable to believe that other life forms exist. I’m just not completely sure about abduction stories and our perception of those life forms haha.

  3. Paul Wallis ( a former high deacon and theologian in the Anglican Church in Australia) Now puts out You Tube videos re: Aliens etc… The 5th Kind 09/19/19 "Human DNA Designed by Ancient Aliens: Scientists Report" and many other videos. I certainly think ET contact is more plausable than any "god" and possibly the ET's were the "gods" ? Worth exploring and discussing.

  4. We are aliens 👽 to aliens. All about your point of view in the universe. We don't have the ability to travel to them. No reason to believe they can travel to us. They are definitely more plausible than "god".

  5. I like this caller, he listened to their counter argument and was willing to accept when he was incorrect , he didnt let his pride get the better of him and try to double down on his statements

  6. The term “Supernatural” is a stupid term in my opinion. I wish people wouldn’t use it, What the term really means is impossible outside of fiction. If the supernatural was somehow confirmed to exist, even if it was relating to something considered to be the biggest scientific breakthrough in history, it would no longer be considered supernatural, it would become a natural phenomenon with naturalistic explanations. So in that sense, the supernatural is not something of which we cannot determine the probability of existing, it is by definition impossible.

  7. An atheist will never have a show pushing atheism.
An atheist won't care enough about God to go to war with Him.
Someone who makes a career out of attacking God has proven that he actually does believe there is a God. There is a word for that; MISOTHEIST. You are ALL misotheists, and that is a much more perverse and far more widespread group. I would look up the word, understand its implications and maybe rethink your position.

  8. Aliens are way more plausible than God. Why? We found fossilized bacteria on Mars thanks to our Rovers and probes. Some meteors that we collected had them as well indicate that there is very likely life on other planets beyond our system.

  9. There is a huge difference between Alien Abduction stories and the Resurrection stories.
In Church, the pastor has not tried to convince me that people have been abducted by aliens.
My mother never told me that Aliens abduct people !
And there are no Alien Abduction stories in the Bible !

  10. The word ''supernatural'' has always annoyed me. Because if something that was supernatural actually was real, it would therefore be part of the natural world. So why would we need to call it supernatural? The mere fact that something is supernatural, is proof, in and of itself, that no one has proven it really does exist. It is damn near synonymous with the word ''magic''.

  11. I agree Jonathan ,you are confused and every word that comes out of your mouth demonstrates that .you seem to agree with maty every time he corrects you On your ill logic, but then you keep trying to argue for the opposite. if you have evidence of this God you believe in please present it ,if you don't have any then you are not rationally justified in believing ,understand?

  12. God is more plausible then aliens?… first of all i am pretty sure that god, the ultimate being would be considered an alien, already there you are proving how dumb you are, second of all even if we were to put that aside still i would say that an alien life form on another planet is much more likely to exist then God, your version of God…. for fuck sake these people trully are dumb.

  13. One thing Matt always gets wrong in these discussions is the part about "You can believe anything based on faith". Faith as an internal "justification" requires a strong emotional response to keep the faithful engaged and believing, so if they don't feel it, they won't want to believe something without evidence. What Matt should emphasize more is the lack of necessary connection of "feeling something is true" to logically justified truth.

  14. If we are randomly here and conscious for no reason other than a coincidence, then im pissed. This world is full of pain, violence, poverty, hatred, wars and so on…if this is all there is then i wish i had never been brought into it. What a joke. Sometimes i think earth is HELL. We suffer here and go home when we die.
I mean, we really dont know shit. Science has come a long way, but to try and even act like we know what the universe is and how it works, and if theres a higher power or creator is shit. We will never know while here, we as humans are not at smart as we think we are. We have NO IDEA WTF is really going on. Our egos are so big its disgusting.

  15. Its all fun and games until you get locked in a closet for a week with a shit bucket as a 11 year old… for not believing in a god my family couldnt prove existed. Christianity allows for parents to psychologically abuse their children. Its evil.
