An attorney in New York has been disbarred after a state appeals court held that he didn’t sufficiently cooperate with an investigation into his practices with money.

Stephen L. Fox was being investigated in connection with three checks totaling $16,458, which were issued from his Interest on Lawyer Account but dishonored due to insufficient funds. After he neither responded to nor appeared for further investigatory or disciplinary proceedings, the Attorney Grievance Committee for the First Judicial Department moved for suspension.
