Watch live coverage and analysis from the Washington Post as the public hearings of the Trump impeachment inquiry continue in the House. Former ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch will testify. Washington Post reporter Libby Casey will host, joined by Post reporters Elise Viebeck, Amber Phillips, Aaron Blake and more.

Democrats are trying to build a case that Trump sought to withhold military assistance and an Oval Office meeting until Ukraine announced investigations into former vice president Joe Biden and his son. On Wednesday, William B. Taylor Jr., the acting ambassador to Ukraine, and George Kent, the deputy assistant secretary of state responsible for Ukraine, testified. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Thursday their testimony “corroborated evidence of bribery” by President Trump. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam B. Schiff (D-Calif.), will lead this week’s public hearings, a decision many Republicans have denounced. Public hearings will continue next week. Read more: Subscribe to The Washington Post on YouTube:

  1. Mr Schiff's opening statement sums things up quite nicely. Trump, Guilliani and others should be charged for the threatening and false removal of an innocent and courageous ambassador. To hell with "pleasure of the president" and "a sitting president can't be charged with a crime"–that should be changed. Trump hides behind this and he hasn't earned these privileges. Mob bosses don't deserve these exemptions. Thank-you Masha for your service, bravery and patriotism.

  2. This was the woman that did most of the legwork to get the Ukrainian investigator sacked that Biden admitted to on live TV!!! 😂😂😂 she was digging into Bidens crimes she's a hostile witness anyway because she got canned right after the democrats STILL have absolutly NO IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE not 1 !!!!! Pelosi has ended her career!

  3. "He went to a Democrat, not a Republican." Yeah, because it's well known that the Republicans don't care what Trump does, so nothing would have come of it.
"How could he threaten actions against trying to uncover the identity of an individual he claims not to know?" Easy: Republicans + Trump demanded something that violated the law and ethics in general, so it's not unreasonable to threaten to report them if they acted. (Who knew that the self-proclaimed party of "law and order" would have to be threatened with legal action if they tried to break the law?)
The rest is ridiculous. Worse, Nunes et al are high-level government officials that represent the people of their states…and that says a lot about the people, who don't rip these guys a new one for their BS.
Edit: If you rubes are going to throw around rumors, at least have the balls to back them up with sources. If you claim Biden did something illegal, or this is a farce, then back it up. How the heck are you so confident in your position that you would make a fool of yourself pushing those positions when the evidence saying you're wrong is abundant? PROVIDE YOUR SOURCES so those of us who are tired of hearing your rants can figure out how you came to those conclusions and judge the facts (FACTS, as opposed to much of what I've seen bandied about in your conspiracy theories, several of which I have actually FACT CHECKED) for ourselves. But when you do, leave out the spin. Provide just the facts. Videos (interviews, rallies, testimonies, etc), official documents, tweets, emails, etc. Links, or you have no source, because without a link nobody can verify the exact source you used to form your opinion…and source quality will get you listened to or laughed at depending, so beware.

  4. If that is what they are, who gives a ….. but keeping people in captivity while being themselves could create terrorism. If they are trying to take over by any means and you that have the power don’t retaliate back I’m afraid problems are arising but this time nobody will be capable to fix it!

  5. “President Donald Trump [] being saved from impeachment by a right-wing media ecosystem” unwittingly relegates the “right-wing media ecosystem” to the same fate as President Donald Trump.
